death is not the real tragedy here. it’s the fact that pinoys are dumbing down that’s tragic.

as a graphic designer, i depend on programs from companies such as adobe and macromedia. the new standard version of adobe creative suite 2 contains almost all of the programs that i need to be able to produce digital images, and thus make a living.

the price: a whopping $899, that’s about 50,344.00 philippine pesos. right now i think BSA is already hunting down companies using pirated softwares, and giving out a 1 million peso reward to those who can report violators. so tell me, how can you stop piracy when their original softwares would cost the average filipino an arm and a leg??? we’re not earning dollars, not even close to what it’s worth; in fact, i don’t think the philippine peso would ever revert to its former glory.

without piracy, i think computer literacy will not be available to the average filipino. they teach computer in school, you might say. PULEEEZ– i haven’t learned anything from my computer classes back then. teachers sucked, the lessons sucked, the computer sucked. even typing class sucked; i earned the proficiency through mirc. *heh*
