no balls no glory

work has never been this boring. no, wait—that’s not even the appropriate term for the current situation. try hopeless.
i haven’t been doing anything major for the last 3-4 weeks already, and i’m starting to believe that everybody’s itching to jump ship, employers and employees alike. before, i have been reluctant to leave because i sort of kept a little faith that the bumpy ride would soon end, but i guess i shouldn’t wait for something that isn’t there anymore.

so much for dream jobs. *sigh*

i’m so small

my mundane blog is now an official entry to the 8th philippine webby awards, but it doesn’t feel right at all. i looked at the links of the other entries and began to feel really small.. or worse, undeserving and invisible.

aargh!!! i’m not supposed to think this way!! *bonk* i should be having fun and be thankful for the indirect publicity. hehe. ah vanity.

your royal yumminess

ah, the joy of pigging out. while a friend of mine was looking for a binatog recipe, he stumbled upon THIS SITE and shared his wonderful discovery to me. enjoy! XD

the road to lunacy

this has been a really bad week; there’s so much to write about, but i think i’ll start with the condition at work for the past few days. almost everybody had to cram for the last minute revisions, company launch presentations, client project deadlines and last minute implementation of spur-of-the-moment ideas (which were non-existent the week before.) we’ve been doing almost nothing last week, and i felt uneasy at the thought of doing nothing when the day of the event is drawing near. i can’t help but predict that we are bound to cram the following week, and so we did.

we weren’t able to do the last minute presentation because there were a lot of other rush things to finish. on top of that, the maid called me at work the other day to tell me that our apartments (for lease) were trespassed. the intruders forced the doorknobs of the last two aparments open and thus succeeded in damaging the lock (must have these replaced asap!). they came in through the first apartment, and crapped a lot within the kitchen and bedroom area. i think they did that to prevent us from securing the place because of the odor. i’m just lucky to have an alert and clever household help. bought a lot of big and thick padlocks as well as chains. hired a welder to install bars on the air condition hole.

so anyway, i was going terribly crazy after i heard the news, wasn’t able to concentrate that much at work because worry and a lot of other concerns were swirling in my head. plus, an anti-gloria rally was gathering in ayala (almost every damn week), making it hard for commuters such as myself to come to work on time. (well walking from buendia-ayala to paseo ain’t that far, not complaining. but it consumes a lot of travel time.) the invitations for the company launching event wasn’t even delivered on time due to the traffic caused by the rally.

most of my concerns are financial matters. no, i’m not in need of cash. but i need to budget everything, make sure that the accounts are in stable condition and pay all the necessary bills, permits and what-nots to avoid complication. it could’ve been easy if i had all the time in the world, but i’m working. *sigh*. i need to have the apartments repaired as soon as possible, but i don’t want to waste money on carpenters who purposely work slow to milk some money from me–all because i won’t be there to supervise.

hay life. parang buhay.

my mouth was spewing nasty words the whole day. i was thinking of smoking a cig, but i guess swearing is a literally healthier alternative.

glamour-ridden cycle

peso-dollar rate: P56.28 to $1

the filipinos learned a new word, impeachment, and has grown to love it after the clinton incident. political leaders would always want to look for holes to exploit, each outsmarting the other for their own personal interests. first, they ousted the former president estrada. now they wanted susan roces, a celebrity & widow of the late fernando poe jr, to replace arroyo. for what?? she doesn’t know anything about running a country, but she would make a good puppet with a great number of supportive followers. a lot of political figures are eyeing the presidential seat, or at least be given the access to power and influence, that’s why they needed a figure to feed the glamour-addicted filipino masses.

it’s all about power and the possible thought of amassing amounts of wealth. the people need to understand that ousting presidents is not the solution. be responsible for what you did because you casted the vote, assuming the president arroyo didn’t buy her way to presidency. (which i doubt. all politicians cheat in their own way, anyway.)

right now, i don’t give a damn who acts as president as long as they give back the glory the philippines had back then. i’m sick and tired of people going abroad in search of a better future, thinking that the philippines is a lost cause.

enough on personal quarrels and start working your political asses off!
